Sherrye is a graduate of George Washington University with a Masters of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health. She also received a post graduate degree Certificate in Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. As a bereaved mother, suicide loss survivor and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, she has a personal and clinical understanding of traumatic loss and the difficult issues facing those grieving the deaths of loved ones.Sherrye has been trained in trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and Compassionate Bereavement Care (CBC).
Areas of interest include pregnancy and infant loss, traumatic birth experiences, birth and parenting after loss, traumatic grief including loss as a result of suicide and other traumatic injuries, and life transitions (illness, divorce, etc).
